This page is about my Gentoo Linux based home server/router/video player.

In terms of hardware it isn't exactly a beast but I still find it very useful.

Ram: 2Gb
HDD: 1Tb Samsung Spinpoint F3
Motherboard: Asus A8N-E
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce-G210
Sound Card: Creative Soundblaster SE
Additional NIC: 3Com Tornado

Routing

Uses: dnsmasq, iptables.

Serving

Uses: denyhosts, Openssh, vsftpd, samba, nfs and rsync.

Video Playing

Uses: get_iplayer, mplayer and some scripts (see odds).
